A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Peru on Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake, with its epicenter in the Iray region, occurred at a depth of 93.4 kilometers (57 miles), the USGS said. There were no immediate reports of loss of lives and property damage. Peru, one of the countries with the world’s highest seismic movements, is located in the Pacific seismic zone, also known as the "Pacific Ring of Fire".

Deadly M6.2 earthquake strikes northwest China, leaving over 100 fatalities, nearly 5 000 homes damaged
At least 118 people were killed and hundreds injured after a shallow M6.2 earthquake hit northwest China on Monday, prompting urgent rescue efforts in harsh winter conditions. The number of fatalities is expected to continue rising.
A shallow M6.2 earthquake struck northwest China at 15:59 UTC (23:59 local time) on December 18, 2023, causing significant casualties and damage. Chinese state media reported on Tuesday that at least 118 people have died, with hundreds more injured as rescue teams work tirelessly to reach survivors in the freezing cold.
The USGS registered the quake as M5.9 at a depth of 10 km (6 miles), while the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) recorded it as M6.2. The epicenter was in Jishishan County, Gansu Province, near the border with Qinghai, a mountainous region on the Tibetan plateau’s edge.

Hamas rockets target Tel Aviv area
Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip launched a barrage of rockets at central Israel on Tuesday afternoon, setting off sirens in Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, Jaffa, Rishon LeTsiyon, Ramat Gan and other cities and towns across the Gush Dan and Shfela regions. It was the first rocket-fire on the area in over a week. There were no initial reports of injuries or damage.

A rocket barrage was fired at the Tel Aviv areatoday from southern Gaza. Several long range rockets were intercepted.
Rockets fire from Lebanon continues. The IDF is responding with airstrikes and other means.
Four rockets were launched from Syria toward the Golan Heights yesterday. One fell in an unpopulated area and 3 fell short in Syrian territory. The IDF struck the source of the launches with artillery fire and a Syrian army post with tank fire.

How can they return as long as the very real threat of Hezbollah mounting an October 7-like attack or unleashing their 150,000 strong rocket arsenal against the north, and the entire country? Defense Lloyd Austin reaffirmed America's unwavering support for Israel's war against Hamas and made it clear that the U.S. is not imposing any timeline for the conclusion of the military operations. He also confirmed the ongoing U.S. commitment to provide Israel with defense support, including munitions and air defense systems.
