IMG_4435The Grace of Jesus Christ: A Divine Invitation to the Unworthy

Yes we know we are in the last days. We are living in a generation just like Noah's. Knowing this how are we supposed to treat sinners? 

Grace is one of the central themes of the Christian faith. It is the unmerited favor of God poured out on undeserving humanity. The ministry of Jesus Christ vividly demonstrates this divine grace through His interactions with people deemed outcasts and sinners by society. Jesus did not avoid the broken, the immoral, or the despised. Instead, He embraced them, forgave them, and transformed their lives. Among the many examples in Scripture, His encounters with Zacchaeus, Matthew, the woman at the well, and others beautifully illustrate His boundless grace.

Zacchaeus: Grace to the Chief Tax Collector

In Luke 19:1–10, we read the account of Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector in Jericho. Tax collectors were notorious for their greed and collaboration with the Roman occupiers, making them hated by their fellow Jews. Zacchaeus was not only a tax collector but a chief one, symbolizing the pinnacle of corruption in the eyes of the public.

Yet, Jesus did the unthinkable—He chose to dine at Zacchaeus’s house. “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today” . This personal invitation from Jesus was an act of pure grace. It was not based on Zacchaeus’s merit but on Jesus' love and purpose to “seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). Zacchaeus responded with repentance, promising to repay what he had stolen. Grace brought transformation.


Matthew: Grace in the Calling of a Disciple

Matthew, also known as Levi, was another tax collector chosen by Jesus to be one of His twelve disciples. In Matthew 9:9–13, Jesus saw Matthew sitting at the tax booth and said, “Follow me,” and Matthew rose and followed Him. Later, Jesus dined at Matthew’s house with “many tax collectors and sinners,” an act that shocked the Pharisees.

When questioned, Jesus responded, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. … For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Matthew 9:12–13,) . This statement encapsulates the grace of Christ: He calls the unworthy and changes them by His love.


The Woman at the Well: Grace to the Rejected

In John 4, Jesus encountered a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. She was not only a woman—which already placed her at a disadvantage in that culture—but a Samaritan and a known sinner, having had five husbands and currently living with a man not her husband. Despite societal taboos, Jesus engaged her in conversation, offering her “living water” and revealing Himself as the Messiah. He did not condemn her; rather, He gave her dignity, truth, and purpose. Her testimony led many in her town to believe in Him (John 4:39). Grace restored her identity and gave her a new mission.


The Woman Caught in Adultery: Grace over Judgment

Another profound display of grace is found in John 8:1–11, where religious leaders brought a woman caught in adultery before Jesus, seeking to trap Him. According to the Law of Moses, she deserved death by stoning. Yet Jesus replied, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” (John 8:7, ). When her accusers left one by one, Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin” (John 8:11). Jesus offered her grace without ignoring her sin. He gave her a new beginning, rooted in mercy and truth.


The Thief on the Cross: Grace at the Last Moment

One of the most known acts of grace from Jesus came when Jesus was in pain hang on the cross. In Luke 23:39–43, Jesus was crucified between two criminals. One mocked Him, but the other, recognizing Jesus’ innocence and divinity, pleaded, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:42–43,).

This thief had no opportunity to perform good works or earn forgiveness. He simply believed. Jesus granted him eternal life by grace through faith, even in his final moments.


The grace of Jesus Christ is a central and glorious theme of the Gospel. His life and ministry show that no one is beyond His reach—whether it is a corrupt tax collector, a sinful woman, or a dying thief, and yes even those who hold on to the gay life style. Jesus came not to condemn but to save (John 3:17). His grace invites the unworthy into relationship, offering forgiveness, transformation, and eternal life.

These encounters remind us that grace is not earned; it is received through faith. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8, ). In Jesus, grace is not a concept—it is a person. Knowing this can you as a child of Christ also extend grace to people who the world considers sinners? There is no question if you want to follow Jesus your heart should be ready to extend the same grace Jesus extended. Do not be afraid to give the good news of the Lord salvation. You can point out what Christ has shown us what sin is, extend the grace, and allow the Holy Spirit to work in the people the Lord has you speak to. Pray the Holy Spirit does the same thing that happened when Jesus extended his grace, they repented and were saved!!!

What did Jesus mean when He gave this warning in 2 Thessalonians 2:11?

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."

This verse is set in the context of those who refuse to believe the truth of the Gospel and instead choose to embrace falsehoods and deception. It reveals that God allows—or permits—a powerful delusion to overtake those who reject the truth, leading them even deeper into lies. This is understood as a form of divine judgment, a consequence for their willful rejection of God’s truth.

Could it be possible that when the Church of Christ is raptured and taken to heaven, the “strong delusion” will be the lie that those missing were taken by aliens—and that those left behind are actually the “good” people? When, in reality, the opposite is true?
